Apple TV and the use of the AirPlay Mirroring option (availability in iOS 5) allows the user to wirelessly connect the iPad to classroom projectors and large screen displays that have an HDMI connection. Anything you can see on your iPad you can display on the projector wirelessly with no connectors, cords, etc. using the Apple TV Box. If your projector does not have an HDMI connection (some of our older models to not), there are inexpensive converter boxes that can be purchased to provide the hdmi connection. One of our area schools recommended this model from LinkStyle.

If you have a 1 to 1 iPad initiative like some area schools, students can share the content directly from their iPads onto the Classroom Apple TV simply by selecting Airplay mirroring on their device.

Equipment Needed:

Mobile device with iOS 5 running airplay mirroring, iPhone 4S or iPad 2 (and later)
Apple TV (second generation or third generation)
Projector with HDMI connection
Wireless Network/Network Connection both devices must be on the same wireless network

Accessing Airplay on Your Device:

Step #1: Connect your device and your Apple TV to the SAME Wi-Fi network
Step #2: Double-click the Home button
Step #3: Swipe all the way to the right and select the AirPlay icon:
